Arlene Schafer, Vice Pres.

Arlene Schafer was first elected to the Board of Directors in 1994. She is an active member of the Harbor Mesa Lion’s Club, the Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce, the Costa Mesa Republican Women’s Federation, and the Orange County’s Federation of Republican Women.

Director Schafer is a former Mayor of the City of Costa Mesa and she served as the Chair of the Costa Mesa Redevelopment Advisory Committee. She is also a former Planning Commissioner and an active member of the California Special Districts Association, serving on the Legislative and Fiscal Committees, the Finance Corps, and the Membership/Recruitment Committee.

Director Schafer’s involvement in numerous civic organizations has earned her many awards, including the Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce "Woman of the Year," the Beacon Award from the Newport/Mesa Unified School District honoring her "Outstanding Contribution to Education," and she was a Board of Supervisors "Honored Citizen of Orange County."
