Citizens Environmental Protection Academy

Ever wonder what happens to your trash after it gets picked up? How about the water that flows out of your faucets and down your drains? Join the Costa Mesa Sanitary District (CMSD) and partner agencies for our annual Citizens Environmental Protection Academy (CEPA) - a free series of educational events providing a behind-the-scenes look at how your trash, water, and wastewater are processed and recycled.CMSD staff at educational event

Past events include Eco Expo, a sustainability fair featuring tips, tricks, and tools to help you become more sustainable at home. We also host facility tours and presentations from industry professionals, including partners from Orange County Waste & Recycling, CR&R Environmental Services, the City of Costa Mesa, Irvine Ranch Water District, Orange County Water District, and Orange County Sanitation District.
